Surfers are making waves in Calgary
Are you part of the worldwide tribe of surfers? The Alberta River Surfing Association exists because you don’t need to live on a beach to be a surfer. Some surf the frozen water in the mountains, some seek out waves on lakes and rivers and others use the power of the wind to surf. We are looking for those who are fueling the underground surf culture here in the Rocky Mountains.
We are a community of individuals connected with nature and ourselves. We live on the edge and seek out new experiences. We seek a “flow” that guides us through life. We’re a chill people, but only because we know something the rat racers don’t know. If this sounds like you, you need to be at this event.
Come out and bid on some art work, buy a t-shirt and win some cool stuff. Meet some other surfers in the neighbourhood and help us raise the cash we need to keep wave building strong in Alberta and the world.
All donations are handled by the Alberta River Surfing Association (ARSA). ARSA is incorporated in Alberta and is a registered Alberta Charity.
ARSA is run by volunteers and 100% of all donations go directly towards wave building.
If you haven’t made it out to our past two, this is the Wave Raiser looks like.
Support a worthy cause.
Your $20 ticket price and all donations, raffle tickets, drinks, tshirts and silent auction bids all go into fuelling the surf waves here in Alberta and helping waves built everywhere in the world.
The Surf Anywhere project is an open source wave development initiative started by the Alberta River Surfing Association and lead by Neil “Negs” Egsgard. Made possible by fundraising and events like these.
Building surf waves grows tourism and industry. What we learn with wave building will be shared around the world so other landlocked surfers can do the same. The surf culture that will grow out of this event ensures events like these will continue to happen in the future.
Thank you for your support and playing your part in helping us change history.
